Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's existence is one of football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. First of all Selmon was brought up by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon. They lived on the farm close to Eufala in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Also, he was one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers were all All-Americans. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the country by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's diploma from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week throughout his college years. Following college, he moved to Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were the all-pro 3 times, and began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being among the top 10 young men from the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. While he was in college, he commanded the 1975 team. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded an award of the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
