After several appearances in popular TV series and movies, she gained fame for her role as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. Following a dramatic rise in fame, the actress got roles on the big screen such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren Shii. In this period she also acted as the lead in several flops on the box-office including Rise: Blood Hunter. She then started voicing prominent characters from animated films such as Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was an unimportant role which didn't have any impact.
