April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States is part of a select set of females who've been awarded medals at more than one Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. It may well be that it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they play their best, and even play well her team could win a gold medal. Additionally, I'm going put my faith in a touch of luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and sister. The athletic pursuits she pursued continued at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of activities. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball as well as basketball as well as track and running. In the last sport she was clearly the standout. The college bio says that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career in high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged by her being named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed the partnership in 2017, However, Ross has been a beach star for years before. In fact, she's been able to win multiple events, and one was won by the legendary player of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, between 2007 and 2013. Also, she coached Klineman and herself. Along together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team which was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat them out to win the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball medal at Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college after graduating from the high school she attended. Ross's Trojans experience was amazing. In 2000, as a freshman Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 and NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. In addition, she helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. After her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal loss, yet managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. Over her final two years as a player, she led the Trojans towards the summit netting successive national titles. Her individual achievements have cemented her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross studied international relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. In the aftermath, Ross is still close to her deceased parent. Margie at the beach as well as in everyday life, inspires her.
